First day - Morning
Campobasso
Territory inhabited since the Samnite era and urban nucleus of Lombard origin. Campus Vassorum developed strongly in the Norman period and later with the great families of the Monforte, which gives its name to the imposing castle, and the di Capua. Visit to the historic center, the Samnite museum and the museum of mysteries.

Gambatesa
Visit to the castle with the wonderful frescoes and to the historic center.
Second day - Morning
Matrice – Larino
Remains of the amphitheater and of the villas of the Roman municipium.
Second day - Afternoon
Termoli
Visit to the historic center and the cathedral of Santa Maria della Purificazione and visit to the underground Termoli.
Third day - Morning
Altilia – Sepino
Nucleus of Samnite origin developed in Roman times. The city of Saepinum, known today as Altilia, is an important road junction on the Pescasseroli-Candela royal sheep track.
Third day - Afternoon
Isernia
Through the historic center of Isernia “the first capital of Italy” to admire the signs of its evolution in history. The remains of the sacred area, below the neoclassical cathedral dedicated to St. Peter the Apostle, tell of the religion, society and politics of almost two thousand and five hundred years ago. Visit to the Paleolithic museum of Isernia-la Pineta dating back to 600,000 years ago where there is the oldest human find in Europe.
Fourth day - Morning
Castel San Vincenzo – Rocchetta al Volturno
San Vincenzo al Volturno: one of the most important abbeys in Europe from the time of Charlemagne. We will visit the remains of the churches, refectory, kitchens, guest quarters and major basilica of the 9th century. On the site, in the crypt of Epiphanius (which can only be visited in small groups) there is also one of the most important pictorial cycles of the whole early Middle Ages linked to the figure of Mary. Visit to the 12th century New Abbey where a community of Benedictine nuns still operates today.
Fourth day - Afternoon
Castel San Vincenzo – Rocchetta al Volturno
Visit to the village of Castel San Vincenzo between the panoramic views and the hidden towers. Visit to the village, to the gates, to the churches, to the Apennine fauna museum, to the small museum of ancient objects.
Fifth day - Morning
Trivento
Visit of the cathedral of Saints Nazario, Celso and Vittore and of the crypt of San Casto of the twelfth century.
Pietrabbondante
The sanctuary complex of the entire Samnite people is the only example of the theater of the time preserved in its almost total entirety. It was the center of aggregation of the Samnite political leaders of all the tribes of central Italy.
Fifth day - Afternoon
Agnone
A settlement of Lombard origin and a large center of craftsmanship in the 12th century with the presence of Venetian artists and artisans who came with the Borrello family. Among these, the Marinelli family, founder and owner of the millenary bell foundry which from 1924, with Pius XI, carried the Pontifical Coat of Arms. We will visit the museum and the pontifical foundry. The day will continue with a walk in the historic center towards the Venetian quarter, the Emidiana Library, the church of Sant’Emidio.
Sixth day
Venafro
It starts from the Pandone castle with the marvelous sixteenth-century bas-relief frescoes depicting the horses of the great and famous stables of Enrico Pandone, lord of Venafro; walking in the historic center with the remains of Roman structures (inscriptions, sculptures, architectural elements) you will arrive at the church of the Annunziata which is one of the most beautiful Baroque churches in Molise you will arrive at the Archaeological Museum of Santa Chiara with the precious early medieval collection of San Vincenzo al Volturno and the wonderful Venus which represents one of the symbols of the city.
