Friday, February 23
Isernia, 11.00 am, Auditorium Unit of Italy, opening information point.
Isernia, 4.30 p.m., Auditorium Unità d’Italia, projection of films and presentation of books on carnivals.
Isernia, 5.30 p.m., Auditorium Unità d’Italia, international conference “Velli, corna e campanacci”, with the presentation of the various masks participating in the review and with the presence of Italian and foreign scholars.
Isernia, 9 p.m., Auditorium Unità d’Italia, concert of the ethnoband “Il Tratturo”.
Saturday, February 24th
Isernia, 4 p.m., “Great Procession in Mask”, through the streets and squares of the City, of the numerous Italian and foreign groups participating (with over two hundred and fifty figures) and simultaneous representation of the respective carnival rites, with gathering in Piazza Andrea d’Isernia and a great final party with traditional and neo-ethnic music.
Sunday, February 25
Isernia, 10.30 am, ‘European Zoomorphic Masks in Freedom’ parades and pantomimes in the streets and squares of the city (with the conclusion of the event in Piazza Andrea d’Isernia).
A great international event, with a parade of over two hundred and fifty figures wearing the traditional costumes of the most famous European carnivals characterized by animal masks.
During the event, several other initiatives will take place, including a special philatelic cancellation curated by Poste Italiane and the preparation and tasting of carnival dishes, typical of the Molian tradition, in collaboration with the Italian Academy of Cuisine.
